In this town there are 36 television channel and 56 in the totality of the country.

Now, the telecom sector produces about $700 000 000 a year and takes on around 800 people. It’s a big figure compared to the weak GDP.

But the access to all of this in not guaranteed everywhere: in the North-East part of Haiti, there are few channels and limited radio diffusion.

  • CONSEQUENCE OF THE SEISM IN THEM DAILY LIFE

The seism in 2010 in Haiti had for consequence the loss of the livestock*1 and of agricultural production which lead*2 to the rise of the unemployment, and so more poverty. The price of

food increased too. And after if there are more poverty and the price of the food is more and more expensive, it leads to more malnutrition.

A big percentage of the Haitian population is in danger ! We can give financial assistance, but the easy way to help the population is even though*3 to give food with a long use-by-date to association like Action contre la fin, UNICEF, CCFD-Terre solidaire

Help Haiti ! They are worthy*4 ! They have been fighting with the consequences of the seism for six years now !

  • Celebrities take a stand

Everyone knows the original version of “We are the World” written by Michael Jackson and Lionel Richie. This charitable song, released in 1985, was interpreted by “USA for Africa”, a group composed of many American stars who took a stand to support the action. The money was collected to fight against starvation in Ethiopia. But the problem is that horror is timeless and 25 years later, it’s Haiti which needs help in order to bring countless people out of the misery into which earthquakes plunged them. Another band of stars of all ages, (like Jimmy Fox said at the beginning of the video), decide to resume the song and to interpret it for Haiti. This new version is as touching as the previous one. The video includes “two main parts” which are shown alternately. The first part is when we can see singers like Miley Cirus, Justin Bieber, Céline Dion, Kanye West, Adam Levine, Pink and 32 others interpreting a sentence of the song one after the other. The other part is composed by troubling pictures of Haitians, smiles on their faces, who are amongst the ruins which cover every piece of ground. The words are as strong as in the first version. They encourage us to give, not only our money but also our heart to “these people who don’t have the right to suffer” because “we are the world” and we can’t keep on ignoring them and saying that someone will be able to help them better and that we can’t do something at our level. Everything can be done when we are united. Let us be the world, let us be Haitians and still today, they need our help so prove them that you want to “light their dark night”.

  • Politic

Jocelerme_Privert.jpgThe republic from Haiti knew a lively political system: today a temporary president, Jocelerme Privet, has been designated since14th February 2016.
The government knew a lot of political regimes without ever being able to implement a democratic system despite the 22 constitutions. But the system looks like a democratic one because of the powers it gives to the population.
    There are 3 powers:
-The legislative power directed by the National Assembly which is made of two chambers: the Senate and the chamber of deputy.
-The executive power directed by the president (5 years), the prime minister and his cabinet.
-The judicial power directed by the courts.

If you want to know more about the politic situation in Haiti, a new article will be post soon!!
